Column Shelves 2003

plywood, 5 x 65 x 150 cm.  2” x 2’1” x 4’9”

This design for a showcase was commissioned for a narrow spot between a column and a huge glass pane. At first I could not find a nice form due to the narrow nature of the place. Finally I decided to use the column as a part of the design. Each shelf has a cutout that fits tight around the column. Gravity pulls on the shelf and holds each in place.
