On these trails one can chase the sun during the longest day (approx. June 21) the shortest day (approx. December 21) and the day of the vernal equinox (approx. March and Sept 21) The shape of the trails are derived by following the sun at a constant speed from sunrise till dawn. The shape of the trails differs on each latitude. For me these trails tell a story of the earth rotating and how this movement is entangled with man walking the earth. I think it would be fascinating to carve the Sun Trails in the earth so one can walk on them. They also would provide a nice sign that can be seen from a plane.
